It’s meditative, spinning. If you saw me at the last few Farmers Markets of the season and I was spinning, here now I’ve finally taken the time to ply the silvery gray Gotland goodness of Tia&River Roving that I was spinning into yarn. Spinning in public, was something I was more than hesitant to do, but ultimately it was a fun experience. I had everyone from moms urging their children to watch, kiddos curious on their own, questions about what I was doing and how it worked, from the mechanics of the wheel to touching the roving, comments about their grandmas having a wheel, the approving nods of some silent generation gentlemen. It was a chance to do something useful, to share the process with many who were curious and never thought about how yarn comes together, and yes, do something meditative after a busy setup. As the days get shorter again, I look forward to reconnecting with my wheel and letting my thoughts meander towards the next season. What activities do you find yourself coming back to this time of year?

We have sweet orange/yellow cherry tomatoes and orange and red cocktail/salad/snacking tomatoes, all of which are pretty darn good in your chili, salsa, or spaghetti sauce! Limited supply, send a message to put your name on some ($4/baggie) and we’ll have them ready in the Farmstand for you. 🍅
