You guys.
I did it! I actually knitted a hat, and it’s wearable and everything! 🤣 Jokes aside, this hat was a massive learning project for me as I started out by looking up how to purl (yes, total novice here) and each new-to-me stitch the pattern gave. I have always wanted to cable knit, and this hat is my first time cabling. Even more special, this is the first time I’ve knit with yarn from my own sheep because I never felt like my skills were worthy of all the work it had taken to get from sheep to yarn. 🐑 We’ve had sheep for 5+ years now! It was time to dive in the deep end and I’m so glad I did.
I also finished the hat on the 3rd anniversary of my grandmother’s passing. She taught me how to knit when I was a little girl. I spent a lot of the evenings (ok late nights!) knitting this hat thinking about her and reliving fond family memories. 💚
