A new batch of roving is back from the mill, and it is all absolutely stunning 🤩 I hopped on my wheel to try a sample of each one and they spun up with that Gotland shimmer & shine as you can see! This pattern singled me out as soon as Theresa and Alla shared it 😉 I knew I had to attempt to make a pair of my own, and I wanted to incorporate shades of Gotland from my own flock. I started with my Icelandic yarn as the main color, but it is a moorit/cream/grey and I knew I wanted the mittens to look like the example in the pattern-white for more contrast with the grays. Thank you Theresa for sending up your beautiful white Icelandic! As a beginning but determined knitter, I was able to create these gorgeous mitts and learn new skills thanks to easy to follow instructions and YouTube. Highly recommend! ⭐️

Hi everyone! 👋🏼 It’s been a while since I’ve done an intro post, so it’s about time to say hi! My name is Kelly here at Namekagon Valley Farm & Studio, a small flower & fiber farm located near Hayward, Wisconsin. We raise Gotland sheep and grow seasonal cut flowers. It’s about to be our busy season here with shearing, starting seedlings, lambing, and the tulip harvest, so I’ll be sharing all about the beautiful (and messy!) spring things! My favorite moments of spring are when the birds return, the frogs in the pond start peeping, and I get to watch the evening lamb races while working in the hoophouse. What is your favorite thing to look forward to in spring? 🌱 🌸 🐑 ✨
